Evaluation Criteria

Hello,

This is the evaluation of the class in each trimester. At the end of each term, you will get the corresponding percentage you got in each criterion.

Regards,
Teacher Marianela Garita Brenes

Evaluation Criteria

Classwork                          45%
2 out of class work            20%
Listening Test                    10%
Speaking Test                    15%
Attendance                        10%

This is the description of aspects I am going to evaluate in the English Conversational Class:

Classwork (45%)
1. Follows teacher’s directions in the class and/or in the laboratory. (5%)
2. Participates in the activities directed by the teacher. (5%)
3. Uses English to talk to the teacher and classmates. (10%)
4. Brings and uses materials to participate in the class. (5%)
5. Works individually or in groups in an active way. (10%)
6. Applies previous knowledge during the activities. (5%)
7. Finishes the tasks on time. (5%)

Out of Class Work (20%)
1. Follows instructions. (5%)
2. There is a full development and organization of content which shows clarity. (5%)
3. Completes all the activities/exercises correctly. (5%)
4. Uses the requested grammar and vocabulary as it corresponds. (5%)

Listening (10%)
The test will evaluate the contents and objectives taught by the teacher and practiced in class in a specific time and day.

Speaking (15%)
It is about the topics studied and practiced in class. It will be an independent activity which will be evaluated, but it will be similar to the activities developed by students in class. Oral production is totally evaluated in this type of task, and it also focuses on the use of grammar and vocabulary previously studied.

Attendance (5%)
Students get this evaluation criterion by coming to all the regular classes in the corresponding schedule in each trimester. In the case of students who are absent the day they have a test, they must justify it as it corresponds or they don’t get the chance to do it.
